SHOP THE POST
Last Sunday, we had a fun family day & celebrated Father's Day at Fashion Valley . You are probably thinking that's an odd place to be celebrating Father's Day that's what my husband initially thought too. However, Fashion Valley is not just a mall for shopping, but it is a one stop place with amazing restaurants, movie theater, and a great place to just hang out and walk around during the summer. I've been going to this mall since I was a child. I surprised my husband and my boys with a fun filled day. Follow along our adventure as I highlight some of the amazing retail stores, restaurant, and movie theater that we visited.
We started our day at Build a Bear which is one of my favorite stores. We were greeted with such a friendly smile from Miranda. She was so helpful and patient with my boys which is always a plus since they can be such a handful. It was so much fun to see that the bears are were inspired by the current movies such as Star Wars and Transformers. My boys had such a great time personalizing their bears. Their favorite part was stuffing the bear with hearts and dressing them. It's definitely a place to take your kids and I love that there is something for everyone regardless of gender. It is such a great place to take the kids because of the unique experience of personalizing each bear to fit their interests. My oldest selected Dark Vader and my youngest selected a Transformer bear. They were both so happy to select something that was uniquely them. You can learn more about Build a Bear here.
The next store we visited was the boys' favorite store. They love and obsessed with everything that has to do with Legos. They had so much fun building Legos and learning about all the products and classes that they offer at the store. My husband and I were amazed the endless possibilities that you can create with Legos. I love that it really allow each kid to really explore their imagination. The Lego Wall was my favorite because you can create and design any Lego. I love that the Lego stores is such a great place to explore and and expand your imagination. It was definitely hard to get the boys out of the store. I highly recommend checking out their calendar and classes that they offer which is great for all ages. You can get more information about the classes that they offer here.
For lunch we dined at an all American restaurant which is perfect for families or anyone wanting to grab a cold beverage and a great burger. I love that STACKED is a full service restaurant which allows you to control when you order and pay on the iPad. You also have the option of putting your order in with the waiter. I also love that you can customize your meal. For appetizers, we ordered the Flying Pigs & the Artichoke Spinach dip which I highly recommend. My favorite part of the appetizer was the tasty sweet and sour sauce. For my entree, I ordered their famous Blu Cheese burger which tasted amazing and my husband got their famous
Mac 'n' Cheese. I love that they had something for every taste bud. If you are looking for a good family oriented restaurant or just grabbing a beer by the bar this is definitely your restaurant. Take a look at their delicious menu here.
Geppetto's Toy Store
After lunch we headed to the Gepetto's toy store which is a toy store that inspires creative play for the entire family. Being a teacher, I love finding toys that stimulate the mind and cultivate free play. I love that Gepetto's fits that bill. Geppetto's is locally owned and been in business for over 40 years. I love that they have toys for every age. The boys had so much fun exploring the different toys that they had. Their favorite was exploring the fidget spinners and playing with the different cars. AMC Theater-Cars Movie
Speaking of cars, after playing with them at Gepetto, the kids wanted to watch the Cars movie in 3D so we headed to the AMC theater. I love the comfortable seating and that they offer 3D option for viewing. The best part is the movie theater is conveniently located in the mall which makes it super easy for us. I highly recommend the Cars movie since everyone enjoyed it. It was definitely action packed and full of car racing.
After the movies we headed to a new store called Distroller, which is hands down one my favorite stores. I have never seen or been to any store like this in my life. It also one of the only store in the United States. So if you are in San Diego, it's definitely a must see for any age. Distroller is an adoption center for kids to take care of babies from a different planet. "A Neonate Baby is a newborn baby that arrives to Earth in a
space capsule from the planet Neonatopia that yearns for
love and care from human children. Just like human babies,
Neonate Babies arrive in distinct sizes and personalities, who
come in different stages of development. " I love that there are so many different babies to adopt for any gender. The boys had such a great time learning how to take care of the babies and the nurses were so helpful in teaching the boys how to take care of the neonate baby. Seeing my oldest take care of the baby was priceless he was definitely more motherly than my three year old. You can learn more about this amazing store here.
Our last stop was Mont Blanc. Since it was Father's Day, I wanted to do something special just for my husband. We had such a great experience at Mont Blanc which recently reopened on Thursday. My husband was blown away with their amazing watches and products. The pieces were definitely unique and one of a kind. We will definitely be back and I think I know just what to get him for his birthday this year. I love how knowledgable the staff was and how friendly everyone at the store was. We loved seeing & learning about the unique pieces. My husband also got to try out their pens which he loves. It was such a great experience for us and I definitely recommend stopping by to seeing the newly renovated location.
Thank you to Fashion Valley for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
