Spring Break 2017 at Walt Disney World

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I've been wanting to share with you my vacation at Disney World in Orlando with my family which my husband won for work. It was an all inclusive trip and we are so lucky to go on this trip for free. We went there for spring break a couple of weeks ago and it was our first family vacation on an airplane. It also and my youngest first time on the airplane. Thankfully, we survived the air plane trip and we didn't have any major meltdowns. I wanted to share with you some of the places we visited as well as the Disney resort we stayed in during our trip.

Disney's Grand Floridian
Let's get started with the Disney's Grand Floridian which is located on the seven seas lagoon. It is a Victorian inspired hotel which reminds of the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. The hotel is very relaxing and the lobby has live orchestra when you walk in. Since it was a week before Easter, the hotel was beautifully decorated with the edible Disney Easter eggs. My favorite one was Cinderella's glass slipper. It was absolutely stunning and the picture that I took doesn't do it justice.  The hotel is also conveniently located since it one stop to the Magic Kingdom. The staff was very friendly and the pools were amazing. We were almost at the pool everyday to unwind after visiting the theme parks. I love that it had a shallow area and my youngest loved playing in the pool. It also gave my husband and I time to unwind for a little bit while the boys splashed around in the water. I definitely recommend breaking up the day so that you get some rest time while visiting the theme parks, because the lines could be a bit overwhelming especially for little ones. We also went at the best time of the year since it was not too hot and humid. Florida is known for its humidity which can be miserable especially waiting in lines for the rides. We stayed at the club level which offer concierge service and meals and snacks throughout the day. The snacks that were offered at the concierge and lobby level was beyond amazing. It's a buffet style that offers breakfast, lunch, late afternoon snacks and the most delicious desserts. If you are staying at the hotel, I definitely recommend upgrading to this service. We also had the quick service meal plan which I highly recommend. The meal plan includes snacks at the theme park as well as the hotel. You can read more about the meal plan here.

Magic Kingdom
We started our first day at the Magic Kingdom and it was definitely a magical experience. If you have been to Disneyland in California it almost identical especially the entrance as you walk in. Cinderella's castle was amazing and the firework show is definitely a must see. I also highly recommend doing the fast passes which is a total time saver especially with kids. Our favorite ride at Magic Kingdom was the Seven Dwarf's train ride. This ride is not at Disneyland so I totally recommend it. Since we had younger kids we weren't able to go on any thriller rides. Being guests at the hotel we were able to take advantage of the Magic Hour which allowed us to get into the park an hour early before the park opens. Since we stay up late and until the park closed each night which is midnight, we weren't able to take advantage of the magic hour. Magic Kingdom was definitely our favorite theme park since it resembles Disneyland the most and the rides were mostly kid friendly.

Animal Kingdom
On our second day we decided to visit Animal Kingdom which is very similar to the San Diego Zoo. We didn't spend a lot of time there since the wait time for rides were very long and we couldn't do fast passes for most of the rides since we didn't plan it very well. We had to wait an hour to go on the Safari ride, but it was worth it since we got to see animals in their natural habitat and not in captivity. We also saw the amazing Lion King show which is similar to the musical. The actors were great and it was such a fun interactive show. I totally recommend seeing this show if you visit the park. Since we did the least at this park, I would definitely go back and see the different exhibits there and the animals.

Hollywood Studios
We also visited Hollywood Studios which resembles California Adventure Land at Disneyland. My son's favorite part of Hollywood Studios was seeing the Star Wars show and the Indiana Jones live show which is also interactive where the audience also gets to take part of the action. Toy Story was our favorite ride and it is very similar to the one in California. It is also a must see if you are a Star Wars Fan or love all things Hollywood.

Epcot
On our third day we visited Epcot and it was my husband's and my favorite theme park because of the gorgeous scenery and my husband loved trying the different brewery and food there. April is not only a good time to visit because of the weather, but the flowers were beyond amazing. There were flowers everywhere and it was breathtaking. I love that the flowers were of Disney characters so it was very whimsical and fun. The food was also amazing since we got to try different foods from all over the world. My favorite food was the Spanish and Mediterranean dishes. The only ride we went on at Epcot was the Nature ride since we were able to get Fast Pass for it. Most of the rides were about an hour wait time and since we have younger kids, we decided to just walk around and see the gorgeous theme park and try different foods and drinks from around the world. It was also one of the hottest days there from our trip and we were able to make the best of it by having a few beverages and tasting all the delicious food from the different countries.

Outfits
I only packed a few outfits for our trip since we were there for less than a week. I picked versatile pieces that can go with so many outfits since we didn't want to carry so many luggage, especially since I had to carry my kids' luggage too. Since I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking, I packed comfortable pieces to wear at the theme parks as well as relaxing at the resort. Hear are the outfits that I wore on my trip along with some great pieces that are perfect to wear for spring/summer.
