Happy weekend everyone! I'm so excited that the weekend is finally here. It's been a long week and I'm so excited that I will be on spring break in two weeks with my kids.  I'm looking forward to warmer weather and hopefully involves relaxing somewhere near a pool or on the beach.  I'm so lucky to live and grow up here in San Diego. It's such a great vacation spot for all ages especially families with young kids. The weather is almost always beautiful all year round. We've also done Staycations here because we love it so much.
I've decided to dedicate a post to my favorite places to visit in San Diego that my family and I truly enjoy. I hope you find these places helpful because we really love the places that I share.  I wanted to share with you my favorite restaurants to eat, places to see and visit and off course my favorite places to shop. I rounded up my favorite 10 spots to visit in San Diego that are family friendly and very affordable. Let's get started!

1. Coronado Beach/Hotel Del Coronado
If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat you know that this is one of my favorite spots to go to on the weekend with my family. The reason we love this place is the beautiful beach and sand. Visiting this place is like being on vacation for us, we like to escape and pretend we are tourists. There are so many amazing restaurants and Miguel's Mexican Restaurant is definitely our favorite. We also love the historic Hotel Del Coronado which was built in the 1888s and is such a gorgeous property. You can read more about it here. The kids love playing in the sand and my husband and I love just hanging out and tanning in the sun. This is definitely a place you don't want to miss in San Diego. For more information on the Hotel Del Cornoado and rates click here
2. Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo
If you love museums, botanical gardens and gorgeous architecture, Balboa Park is definitely a place to visit. There are numerous museums for the old and the young. My kids love the Railroad and Science museum and my husband and I love the Japanese Friendship garden because the flowers are amazing. Spring is the perfect time to go to visit to see all the beautiful flowers. The San Diego Zoo is also a great place to visit and is walkable distance from Balboa Park. For more information on the San Diego Zoo click here. For more information on Balboa Park click here
3. Sea World
I can't tell you how many times we've gone to Sea World in the past year since we got our season passes. I'm sure you have an idea if you follow me on Snapchat. My boys love Sea World! It's such a fun place to visit and such an affordable price. They are running a special right now if you buy a one day pass you can get the rest of the year for free. They are also expanding and building new attractions so we are super excited. We've renew our passes for the last two years. For more information on Sea World click here
4. Petco Park
Spring is the perfect time to watch a baseball game in San Diego. The weather is perfect and the stadium is absolutely amazing. Let's be honest here, I'm am clueless when it comes to sports but the Petco Park is more than just about baseball. Not only is it is very kid friendly, but I love Sunday games when the Kids Zone is set up and the kids can run around while you watch the game from the lawn. Make sure to pack a blanket to sit on and your hat and sunscreen because it can get really warm. For more information on Petco Park click here.
5. Lego Land
I might be a little bias here because I'm a mom of two boys, but both my sons who are five and three adore Legoland. Honestly they love it more than Disneyland. There is so much to do at this theme park that is perfect for their age. The best part is the Mummy ride which has a place for the kids to play and build legos while your in line for the ride. There is also a fun aquarium and waterpark. The waterpark just opened this weekend so we are very excited to check it out. It's definitely a must if you have a Lego enthusiast. 6. Eddy V's in La Jolla
This is our favorite restaurant for date night. The ocean view and the food is amazing. It's definitely our go to restaurant for date night. It's located in La Jolla and has beautiful views of the ocean. The food is so delicious and my favorite food on the menu is the Hong Kong Sea Bass and the crab fried rice. My mouth waters just thinking about it. For the restaurant menu or to make reservations click here
7. SeaPort Village
Located near downtown, SeaPort village is such a fun spot for all ages. It is located on the marina and about five minutes from the airport. There are tons of restaurants and a great place to walk along the marina. My husband and the boys love visiting the USS Midway and going on the Harbor cruise. It's a great place to visit for spring. For more information on the USS Midway click here, for more information on SeaPort Village click here
8. Old Town San Diego
If you love history and Mexican food this is the perfect place to visit and surprisingly very kid friendly. The boys loved learning and going to the museums. Old Town also has some great Mexican  food and fresh tortillas. It's such a fun place to visit to learn about California's history. For more information on Old Town, click here
9. Mission Bay Park
If you are looking for the best playground with a view of the bay, Mission Bay park is perfect place to visit. My parents used to take me here all the time and I actually learned how to drive here. This place definitely brings back lots of memories for me. It is the perfect place to ride your bicycle, fly a kite or just hang out and play on the playground with the kids. There are a few play structure that is perfect for kids.  It is also located about two minutes away from Sea World. For more information on Mission Bay park click here
10. Paradise Point Hotel
We loved staying at this hotel during our staycation last year. See this post for more pictures. It is located conveniently near Sea World and about ten minutes from the airport. It's a family friendly hotel with great restaurants and amazing views of Mission Bay. The pool is amazing and perfect for relaxing. The staff were also amazing and it definitely feel like a mini vacation while we were there. Hopefully we will back this summer. For more information on the hotel and rates, click here

  1. I've been meaning to stop by this post since you first mentioned it on IG but am just now getting to it! Anyway, this was a fun read and I really enjoyed seeing your local favorites! Miguel's is my favorite Mexican place here, too. Haven't been to Eddy V's or Paradise Point hotel (that sounds fun for a staycation!) so will have to check those out!
